With her 20 years of experience creating metal sculptures and her 10-year passion for glass, Rosa Silbert has found that the fabulous colors and luminosity of art glasses are enhanced when mixed with metal products that add strength, complexity and a touch of mystery to her work. Silbert left behind her career as a business litigation attorney over 20 years ago to further her study of art. She attended the Glassell School of Fine Arts in Houston Texas and has studied art in France and Italy. She has lived in Malaysia, France and Italy. Her works have been exhibited in galleries in Houston and Santa Fe and are in private collections in Europe and the United States. She has been an active participant in the Santa Fe Art in Public Spaces program. Critics have noted that Silbert’s eclectic background and her sense of play and experimentation have given her a unique voice and a fascinating body of work.
